As a retired fire captain of Las Vegas Fire & Rescue and USAF veteran, I know this job stays with us long after the last call. FUEGOS was created to provide active and retired firefighters apparel and gear that represents the pride, dedication, and camaraderie we carry for life.
What started as a hand-drawn sketch at Station 44's kitchen table in 2008—the original Pinchi Bombero—became a movement across firehouses in Las Vegas and eventually the Southwest. I asked my buddy Firefighter Mark Duncan to draw something that would personify a “Pinchi Bombero”. Mark then put pencil to paper and hand drew the iconic roguish, buff bombero with his hybrid sombrero/fire helmet and his classic firefighter mustache. Now we're building on that foundation with unique designs that create esprit de corps and further connect the fire service community and other public servants.
